Legal Designs is the brainchild of Kimberly Walsh. Kimberly, a graduate of the University of Calgary ' Law
School, has worked in a variety of legal fields since her call to the Bar in 1991. She has always had a keen
interest in helping lawyers market their services. However, she recognizes that many lawyers do not have
the time to develop the tools marketing experts recommend for law firms.

Kimberly believes that one solution to this lack of time is to offer lawyers ready-made products, specifically
personalized websites and client newsletters. While the law firm retains control of the look and content,
Legal Designs does all the work.

Prior to entering law school, Kimberly attended the University of Ottawa where she received her Bachelor of
Arts with a concentration in English. Following her call to the Bar, Kimberly spent five years working with an
Ottawa-based tenant advocacy organization. Her responsibilities included educating tenants on their legal
rights and obligations as well as representing tenants before the Rent Control Tribunal.

For five years she read and wrote the headnotes for more than 7,000 cases in the QuickLaw database. The
decisions included those of administrative tribunals, the various courts across Canada, the Courts of
Appeal, the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal.

Since 1999, Kimberly has been writing, designing and distributing newsletters to the clients of small and
medium-sized law firms. The four-page quarterly newsletters cover a wide range of topics, including
significant legal decisions.

Drawing on her vast experience and wealth of legal information, Kimberly recently began her
own subscription newsletter and website. The Law & You was created to help people have a better
understanding of the role that the law plays in our day to day lives.

Over the years Kimberly has also done legal research for lawyers, practised law in the area of wills and sat
on the board of several community based boards, including Ottawa's West End Legal Services.
